What to Expect
A typical day waterfowl hunting with us will start with and early morning coffee and continental style breakfast including cereal, muffins, Danish pastry, and bagels.
You will then head out to your hunting location with your guide who will set the decoy spread, prepare the blind(s) and then continue to hunt with you throughout the morning.
We typically hunt out of a-frame style blinds or layout blinds. This is the same whether hunting a dry field loaded with Canada Geese (Cacklers, Lessers and Greaters), ducks and occasional Snow Geese or Specklebelly Geese or many of the watershed lakes or ponds that we have at our disposal.
You may choose to go in for lunch or pack a lunch and continue to hunt throughout the day. At the end of your long day of hunting you will be escorted back to the lodge where a home-style meal will be waiting for you.
Stories are told around the dinner table while getting a game plan together for the next morning.
Guided Waterfowl Experience
We spend countless hours throughout the season scouting and prepping for your arrival.
Our guides run a variety of decoys and decoys spreads so you do not have to bring your own!
A few things that are recommended to bring are of course your gun, plenty of ammo, and at least knee-high water proof boots. Waders are most certainly an option but are not necessary for your hunting experience. It will be required that any birds that you harvest are to be tagged and cleaned prior to your next day or hunting. If you don't not tag and clean your birds prior to the next day’s hunt you will be excluded from the next day’s hunt until your birds are processed. The processing can be further explained by your guide upon arrival.
Typical birds that are harvested here in Kansas are as follows:
- Ducks
- Mallards
- Pintails
- Gadwall
- Wigeon
- Divers
- Geese
- Cackling Canada Geese
- Lesser Canada Geese
- Greater Canada Geese
- Snow Geese
